with china, trying to get a--by 2020, seven years from now, an agreement in to reduce emissions by 17% by 2020 with china. it is aggressive. it is progressive, and you know, we talked a lot during the campaign. >> cenk: is he going to be the d block, the aggressive progressive. >> i don't know if he heard of that before, but you can have the politics of a wink and a nod is what we talked about during the campaign. i think this is that. he did not speak about climb change. it was brought up to him once after being re-elected. but now he's doing something and he's doing it quietly but he's doing it. that's important and that's what we didn't expect. >> cenk: that's probably the most encouraging thing i've heard out of all of this. he didn't make a big deal out of it. it appeared that he was laying low and he wasn't doing much. and china and india won't do because. they use the u.s. as an excuse. and since copenhagen voluntarily agreement emissions have done nothing but go up since last year. now that the president is reaching out to get a deal, we don't know if they're going to get it.

to bangladesh. they used to produce a lot in china. they've decide wages are too high in china. they moved toward bangladesh which has the world's lowest minimum wage for a country that does serious manufacturing about $37 a month. and walmart sears other countries look to bangladesh because they want to produce apparel at the very lowest cost and they're worried if they invest a lot more in, say in wages or fire safety, that might force them to pay $5 a shirt rather than $4 a shirt and they worry that will make them competitive. my sense is having to talk to experts is western companies import about $18 billion worth of apparel each year from bangladesh and it might cost a billion or $2 billion to get several thousand apparel factories in shape to prevent fires, to provide fire escapes to provide good, safe stairways for people to come down. and i think the thinking is that might raise the price of apparel by 2%, 3%, which wouldn't kill us if we have to pay 50 cents more for a $20 shirt. >> jennifer: that's the iss

man in china basically said it all. all of those kids lived. no guns involved. it is insane. so where does it stop? this guy you had on earlier his rights were going to be taken away. should we give him hand grenades and 50 calibers? it is assault weapons assault! >> bill: exactly. you know the other thing doug, several people made this point this morning i just want to repeat it right here, right now. we gotta forget about the nra because the idea that the nra is supporting legitimate, honest, law-abiding gun owners in this country is wrong! maybe at one time, it is no longer true. they are not going to lobby for hunters or for people who like to do target practice. they're the lobby. they're the voice for the gun manufacturers. these people who are making products that are killing our kids. the nra is the gun manufacturers's lobby and so they're not there to protect the second amendment. they're there to protect the profit of the big gun manufacturers. that's what they've become. a big special interest.
